My name is CHENG-WEI LIN. I graduated from TCMT, major in Marine Engineering. 「Opportunities are for those who are ready.」 are the words impressed me the most. The first year I can`t slack off my schoolwork, and my grades had been kept in the top three all. At college, it is not enough time to study. Therefore, when I don`t understand, I must grasp the chance to ask questions, take notes, and focus on reviews in learning. Perhaps these are the basic principles that everyone knows, but really keep working at it is not a soft job. To carry out one thing, we must have strong willpower and severe self-discipline. Time management is very important. Only a few students, however, go to class on time, attend a lecture, and submit reports in college. From the beginning of the college, with school counseling and training facility, I passed the required qualification examination of class B skill category of Boiler Operating. By the way, in the second semester of freshman year, I also attended a training course which organized by Ship and Ocean Industries R&D Center (S.O.I.C.) and C.R. Classification Society (C.R.) in National Taiwan Ocean University (N.T.O.U.) and successfully obtained the certificate of completion. I also used spare time to enter the contests of I.C.O.A.R. and boiler operating. Finally, I just got the Honorable Mention. Last November, I took an exam of TOEIC and got 385 scores. It needs to be improved, I know. Then I will spend time to strength the ability about English for understanding instruction books on board. I have an additional class in hand about Mechatronics— Programmable Logic Controller—for marine automatic mechanical equipment in Hwa Hsia University of Technology. My favorite sport is volleyball, sometimes I go to volleyball court and playing skills with others, on one hand may stretch the physique and meet new friends, on the other hand may relieve the stress of academically.
