I was born and reared in Taiwan and educated in local public schools. I recei
ved my baccalaureate from China Maritime College--now called Taipei College of Maritime Technology. For years, I wanted to study abroad and finally saved enough to do so. In just one year, I received my master''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s degree in Teaching English as Foreign Language from Columbia International University, and I took further courses in English at the University of South Carolina. Upon my return to Taiwan in 1991, I began teaching at Taipei College of Maritime Technology , where I have taught ever si nce.
